People watching

After the "Concise Chinese-English dictionary for lovers", a new book "20 Fragments of a Ravenous Youth" of Xiaolu Guo is out, this time the book gives a view on youth and modern China society, it's such a pleasure to read and you can easily finish within one day.

One of things I really love doing is to sit in a cafe with friends during the weekend and between conversations I can watch people ;-). Since I am commuting by train to work, from time to time, I can also watch people. Recently I have encountered a very funny young ticket controller, he usually comes to each wagon, and instead of the usual "Bonjour", he said "Coucou" ;-). The first time I heard that I couldn't help smiling and so do others on the train. He is cheerful and full of positive energy. Isn't that great? I mean how many of us come to work happy and show that we take pleasure in what we do?

One of the things I have made an observation is that I do not like teenagers coming on the train with their loud headphones, trousers fall underneath their butts, show their underwears, is this a sign of getting old, I wonder? ;-) Maybe but some of them are rude, and have no manners. I also wonder how I was when I was at their age? Did I behave like that, too? Even though I grow in a different country, I think family education is not much different. As parents, shouldn't they explain to their kids how to behave? Yes, teenagers are at an age to rebel to show that they have become adults, and they imitate the environment around them. It is probably easy for me to say when i do not have kids, but really when it is your own kids, then you have to be even tougher with them so that their future can be easier.

Anyway, that was just my own observation, I am so fed up with everything wrong in this world and small thing makes me upset ;-).

Time seems to fly fast recently. I am currently busy giving help in a preparation of a small wedding of my friends. The bride and groom will cook but they have asked me to cook two dishes for them, apparently I do have two signature dishes (high hope for my own brasserie later ;-))
