Xmas with uncle

It is quite hectic at the moment, I will come back with more writing next year...Meanwhile, enjoy the pictures ;-)

Xmas foods

Since I was not feeling very well recently, we did not have a big Xmas like last year. I made a seasonal dinner with:
Fois gras with figues, balsamique vinegar accompanied with a small green bean, malgré de canard, mango, nuts side salad
*********
Lemon sorbet
*********
Doe Filet with homemade chesnut purée, raspberry sauce and young vegetables (this one nobody reminded me to take a picture until they all finished it :-))
*******
Buche de Noel
Of course, we started with some amuse-bouches and the bubbles that I got from work :-). Otherwise, the entry was accompanied with a Chablis, and main dish with a St-Emillions.
Everybody liked the foods except me. In fact, I still feel sick in stomach thinking about them...

Another year

Xmas is already on its way to knock our door, and I almost let it go by without taking a breath of it :-). Time indeed flies.

Unlike many years in the past, this year I want it to be ended fast. I guess I have always wanted to have the end of year goes fast. I wonder why. Probably I am a-looking-forward person. Maybe the fact of expecting the new year makes me feel exciting about anything comes along with it. Anyway, this year in particular, I want it to end fast because it has been a rough year, and that being said I want to see some big changes in the year coming.

Like many of my friends said, this year had a bad beginning but the end has turned out fine. Things started to fall into their places (to my surprises), and that makes me believe more that everything happens for a reason. Yep, karma really works ;-).

Isn't it contradictory that every year I am looking forward to a good new year, and then as well looking forward for its end? I surely have become more patient (or at the least learn how to be), the truth is this year has taught me many lessons that I think I was lucky enough to have experienced them because they certainly made me stronger.

Happiness is for someone who stops expecting it, but let it come naturally.

Trekking in "Pays de Herve"

The tileul tree, the horses, and me

Cows and Donkey

The boys ;-)

Japanese snacks ;-)

The other day I went to the Japanese supermarket because of my sudden appetite for Japanese foods , and the result was that I bought plenty of snacks and sweets. Some sweets are really similar to what we have in VN, especially those related to sticky rice. Love 'em!

Everybody has been gossiping about how simple and awesome the Xmas deco in Grand Place this year, and I have to say that there is an effort this year...They probably received a lot of bad feedback from last year
